Serving your optimum health

Whole and Healed

Manual therapy works to release restrictions found at the deepest layers of the body. It encourages resistance to disease, nurturing optimum health and well-being in the physical, mental and emotional context of the body. Gentle hands on manipulations encourage relaxation around the nervous system, alleviating a wide variety of dysfunctions.

It is unnecessary to walk through the world with pain.

Pain creates stress, which feeds back into pain. Cycles ensue.

Long held traumas and limiting beliefs hang upon tissues and impact everyday life. This accumulation settles as dysfunction. From imbalance to stagnation, this accumulation gradually cultivating dis-ease. Pathology is the byproduct of this, standardized as the new normal.

Your jaw gets tight. Your stride shortens. Seated for ten hours a day, your impact in the world is affected.

Therapeutic technologies are designed for the modern world.

Shifting perception, separating pain from experience, leaves you with freedom to engage anew.

Focus is upon supporting the dynamic motion of your body's systems . With restrictions eased, dysfunction and pain are released.

The body and mind function optimally.

Ramesh’s goal is to help you achieve your optimal health. His work tones the nervous system to a relaxed state, increasing rest and integration, nurturing a dialogue of what it means to be well.
He believes therapeutic massage is a collaborative process, nutrition is medicine, and community makes it all worthwhile.
A 3000 hour trained manual therapist, Ramesh has been teaching yoga for over 13 years.

As a 3000 hour trained manual therapist

I employ a combination of therapies designed to access and encourage the body's natural ability to heal.

All manual therapies are based on the fact that there are inherent movements in the body.

When something restricts this, dysfunction occurs.

Tissue loses its normal motion when it becomes inflamed, gradually accumulating restrictions in its mobility. In releasing these fascial restrictions Visceral Manipulation supports dynamic movement between organs, encouraging communication between systems, optimizing health.

Exposure to many factors can cause inflammation including: diet, environmental stress, direct trauma, infections, repetitious movement and emotional stress. The awareness provoked though VM cultivates an inner dialogue in support of your greatest health.

The craniosacral system is comprised of membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal column. Imbalances in this system can have far reaching effects on sensory, motor and neurological functioning. Craniosacral Therapy is a hands on method of supporting and optimizing the function of this system.

Using a touch generally no greater than the weight of a nickel, CST practitioners release restrictions in this system to improve functioning of the central nervous system. This work facilitates healing on a physical, mental and emotional plane, nurturing the body’s inherent healing ability.

Myofascial Release treats the connective tissue (fascia) that weaves your body together, from the bone to the skin. An assessment technique, it unwinds tension that limits your body's inherent and natural mobility. It works on the musculoskeletal system by gliding and stretching the differing layers of tissue.

Through mobilization of these restrictions, tensions are normalized and your body is free to function optimally.

Using joint and soft tissue mobilizations, Positional Release Therapy works your body's muscle, tissue and bone to an ideal frame of neutral. Freedom of movement is created. Ideal for the treatment of tension headaches, repetitive strain injury and sciatica, it is a gentle hands on technique.

Sciatica is a condition upon the Sciatic nerve, where becoming pinched, most frequently by the Piriformis muscle, sensation travels down the back of your leg. This may create tingling and a loss of strength in the leg. Manual therapy creates space for the nerve, permitting the body its sensation free function.

Treatment

➫ Prior to Treatment

Come hydrated.

Dress in clothes you move easy in.

Keep jewelry to a minimum.

Treatment

Sessions are 60 minutes.

You will remain clothed throughout the session.

If this is the first time that we are working together, schedule an additional 30 minutes.

We shall connect and co-create a treatment plan.

If you are familiar with yoga, consider this an assisted Savasana.

Guiding your breath to a state of mindful awareness, you enter a state of receptivity and relaxation.

Hands on manipulations re-frame your spine around the central nervous system.

You enter a profound state of relaxation.

Neck and shoulder maladies are addressed. Digestive issues ease.

Jaw tension relaxes. Low back pain resolves.

 Anxiety and stress melt.

Often sessions produce lateral shifts in thinking. As such, creatives appreciate receiving this work.

Post Treatment ➫

Remember.

You are a soul.

You have a body.

Take your time re-integrating into the world again. These sessions change your blood pressure, so rising from the table can take a moment. Note the shift in awareness, the perception of your body...

The whole stabilizes and the body may feel new to you.

Ideally, post treatment you prioritize self care: keep bookings to a minimum; to integrate sensations from the body, take yourself on a date; travel slower and move mindfully.

The less scheduled the better.

You will be given home practices for self care: exercises to strengthen and neutralize imbalances.

The manipulations are subtle, but there may be some muscle soreness.

Epsom salt baths are a wonderful solution for this. Add 2 cups to a warm bath and soak for 20-30 minutes.
